Meet the Owner Stephanie Dowling

One Accord is more than just a boutique—it's a vision brought to life through faith, resilience, and a calling to uplift women both locally and around the world.

Founded by Stephanie Dowling, One Accord Women’s Apparel & Fine Art opened its doors in 2015 in Sumter, South Carolina. After working in the retail and home furnishings industries for over 20 years and stepping away to care for her daughter, born with special needs (mild cerebral palsy and ASD), Stephanie found her heart stirred by something greater during a series of international mission trips. The poverty, hunger, and suffering she witnessed became a burden too heavy to ignore. She knew she was called to do something more.

At a Christian women’s conference, a speaker posed two life-changing questions:
“Who is hanging in the balance of your yes?” and “What would you do if you knew you would not fail?”

Stephanie’s answer was clear: she would combine her love for retail with her heart for serving others. Her vision was to open a boutique that offered beautiful clothing, some of it ethically made, and use the business as a vehicle to give back. A portion of the shop’s profits would directly support missions both locally and around the world. More than just a store, it would be a space where women could connect, feel encouraged, and know they are genuinely cared for.

Inspired by the Book of Acts, where believers were united in “one accord,” Stephanie envisioned the boutique not just as a retail space but as a refuge (or haven)—a welcoming place for women to gather, be seen, and leave more confident than when they arrived.

Today, One Accord Women’s Apparel & Fine Art is a lovingly curated shop in the heart of downtown Sumter. We offer ready-to-wear and special occasion clothing, jewelry, handbags, and fine art. 

Stephanie and her husband Chad, owners of neighboring Dowling Clothiers, have built more than businesses. They’ve built ministries through retail, and they're committed to making faith-centered decisions every step of the way.
